The Satellite Archaeology Foundation, Inc. 501(c)(3)

The Satellite Archaeology Foundation, Inc. is a 501(c)(3) nonprofit organization based in Newton, NC. The foundation is dedicated to the discovery, documentation, and preservation of overlooked archaeological sites through satellite imagery, remote sensing, field research, artifact analysis, scientific review, and public education.

Founded by Angela Micol, an independent researcher/satellite imaging expert with a long-standing passion for using satellite imagery to identify possible ancient sites, the foundation was created to connect archaeologists, scientists, researchers, students, volunteers, and enthusiasts around the world. Our mission is to support responsible research methods that help identify potential archaeological sites, evaluate evidence before field verification, and bring promising discoveries into the public record. Funded by public contributions, the foundation works to advance satellite archaeology as a meaningful tool for discovery, collaboration, and cultural heritage preservation.

Structure

Expanding the Search for Ancient Civilizations.

Some of the world’s most important archaeological discoveries may still be hidden beneath layer upon layer of sediment. Our foundation uses satellite imagery, remote sensing, field research, and artifact analysis to identify and investigate sites that deserve deeper scientific attention.

By supporting independent researchers and responsible archaeological collaboration, we help bridge the gap between discovery, documentation, and preservation.

The Blueprint

A New Model for Archaeological Discovery.

We support a new model of archaeological research by combining satellite technology, independent investigation, field documentation, artifact analysis, and public education to help bring overlooked discoveries into the light.

Preserve.

We use satellite imagery, terrain data, historical maps, and remote sensing tools to identify possible archaeological sites hidden beneath the modern landscape.

We support responsible site photography, mapping, artifact analysis, and research review to help transform observations into documented evidence.

We provide funding pathways, publication support, and public education for independent researchers and communities working to preserve cultural heritage.

Support Independent Archaeological Research.
