Revealing Hidden History Through Satellite Archaeology.
The Satellite Archaeology Foundation, Inc. is a 501(c)(3) nonprofit organization based in Newton, NC. The foundation is dedicated to the discovery, documentation, and preservation of overlooked archaeological sites through satellite imagery, remote sensing, field research, artifact analysis, scientific review, and public education.
Founded by Angela Micol, an independent researcher/satellite imaging expert with a long-standing passion for using satellite imagery to identify possible ancient sites, the foundation was created to connect archaeologists, scientists, researchers, students, volunteers, and enthusiasts around the world. Our mission is to support responsible research methods that help identify potential archaeological sites, evaluate evidence before field verification, and bring promising discoveries into the public record. Funded by public contributions, the foundation works to advance satellite archaeology as a meaningful tool for discovery, collaboration, and cultural heritage preservation.
